Michele O'Brien
Michele is a suburban-bred American gal who lives to travel. In 2005, Michele made her fan pilgrimage to see the band U2 perform in their hometown of Dublin and after her marriage to an Irishman in 2007, has since resided there. She enjoys writing about destinations she has visited in America, the Caribbean and mainland/Eastern Europe. Some of her travel pieces are posted on www.internationalcircuit.com.
Michele has a BA in Journalism & Mass Communication from NYU under her belt, but sought out a career in the world of advertising and branding. For over a decade, she has worked with agencies in Philadelphia, New York and Dublin. Although quite passionate about working with brands like Nivea, Jameson Whiskey and Sony Ericsson, and positioning them to stand out in their marketplace, Michele expresses her passion for travel and new experiences through freelance writing.
Able to combine her love for U2 with an extensive background in advertising, Michele penned an academic essay entitled U2: An Elevated Brand. The essay is now part of a wider collection being published by Scarecrow Press in 2011 in a book called "Exploring U2: Is this Rock and Roll?" Michele presented her essay at the first ever U2 academic conference in North Carolina in 2009.
Michele is also a self-proclaimed amateur foodie with a discerning palate for beers of the world.
